Objectives:
The science teachers will demonstrate what they know how and when to use the technology tools discussed throughout the workshop, by responding to scenarios and example units.
The science teachers will demonstrate all that they have learned by sharing the content they have posted to their wikis throughout the workshop.
Lesson Plan Outline:
The presenter will begin by asking different students to summarize what was covered in the previous days of the workshop. The floor will be opened for any questions about what was discussed.
The presenter will answer when necessary but will try to encourage the other participants to jump in and share ideas, solutions and answers. The participants will then be given scenarios of different units and lessons that science teachers might be asked to teach.
The teachers will work in their small groups to discuss which of the tools they learned about would best help teach the subject in each scenario. The groups will share what they brainstormed with the group and each group will pick one scenario and develop a product to supplement that lesson, which they will share with the class.
For the second half of the sessions, the teachers will be given a little additional time to work on their own wikis while the instructor is available to answer any additional questions. Finally, the teachers will share their wikis, explaining what they have learned and how that will translate to their classroom teaching. All the teachers’ wiki links will be shared on the classes wiki as a reference for the teachers.
